Afropunk inspired character concepts

This was my first serious attempt at doing my own concept art, done during a 1 month mentorship with Anthony Jones. The characters were inspired by the Afropunk movement. 
My process started with creating the thumbnails. After I had a good idea of the direction I wanted to go in, I jumped into Zbrush to create a quick and dirty sculpt . This was used as the base for my final concept art.
